On March 18, 2026, the New York Catalysis Society (NYCS) held its annual Spring Symposium at New York University in Hemmerdinger Hall, located in the NYU Silver Center for Arts and Sciences.
Members of the Combustion and Catalysis Laboratory (CCL), including Principal Investigator Dr. Marco J. Castaldi, postdoctoral researcher Michael Lugo Pimentel, PhD candidate Kaitlyn Lawrence, PhD student Milton Lliguichizhca, and visiting scholar Natalie Kroboth, attended the event. Several members of the Earth Engineering Center (EEC), also directed by Dr. Castaldi, were also in attendance, including research associates Tricia Marchese, Zachary Monard, and Rachel Ioffe.
CCL and EEC researchers contributed to the symposium’s poster session, with Kaitlyn Lawrence, Milton Lliguichuzhca, Tricia Marchese, and Rachel Ioffe presenting work related to ongoing research in catalysis and waste valorization.
The symposium provided an opportunity for CCL and EEC members to engage with researchers from across the regional catalysis community, exchange ideas, and share recent developments from ongoing projects.
