Combustion and Catalysis Lab Hosts New York Catalysis Society Meeting

On October 15, the Combustion and Catalysis Lab (CCL) at the City College of New York hosted the October meeting of the New York Catalysis Society (NYCS). The event took place in the North Academic Center and brought together 39 members of the regional catalysis community, including researchers from academia and industry.

The invited lecture was delivered by Professor Marco J. Castaldi, Principal Investigator of the Combustion and Catalysis Lab. His presentation, titled Conventional to one-of-a-kind catalytic investigations and reaction engineering for energy and environmental applications, highlighted the lab’s research efforts spanning from traditional reaction engineering to the development of unique catalytic systems designed to address energy and environmental challenges. During the evening, Professor Castaldi was also recognized by the NYCS for his recent Excellence in Catalysis award.

The New York Catalysis Society, a local chapter of the North American Catalysis Society, organizes regular technical meetings to foster exchange of ideas among scientists and engineers working in heterogeneous catalysis and related fields. CCL was honored to host this month’s gathering and extends its appreciation to the NYCS leadership and attendees for contributing to a productive and engaging evening of scientific discussion.
