Xin Yi “Abbie” Cheong is an undergraduate at CCNY majoring in Environmental Engineering and Earth System Science with a minor in Music. She joined the Combustion & Catalysis Lab in addition to the Tseng Lab at CCNY where she studies microplastic generation. At CCL, Abbie has supported Janhvi Trivedi’s work on solid waste residue valorization. She also manages laboratory waste and safety protocols and is currently performing bomb calorimetry tests to characterize fuels. Originally from Malaysia, she is still exploring various career paths but is drawn to roles that involve fieldwork.
