Emely Nuñez is an undergraduate at the City College of New York majoring in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Chemistry, and is expected to graduate in May 2026. She is a transfer international student who previously attended INTEC in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. At the Combustion & Catalysis Lab, Emely is engaged in catalyst testing for gas sensing applications, contributing to the evaluation and performance assessment of catalytic materials under controlled conditions. Through this work, she is building a strong foundation in applied laboratory methods and materials characterization. Emely is interested in pursuing a career in solid waste management or environmental consulting, with a focus on developing practical engineering solutions that advance sustainability and environmental stewardship.
