Description of Research:
By the need of replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy sources, the interest on utilization of landfill gas has been increased recently. The landfill gas is mainly composed of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2). If methane released to atmosphere directly, it causes more than 20% global warming effects than carbon dioxide. Thus, by using landfill gas, we can not only generate energy but also reduce emission of great global warming sources. The research is for discussing landfill gas as a fuel for a small 4-stroke internal combustion engine to produce power in effective ways.
